Welcome to Edventures in Education

Hey y'all! Rachel here from Edventures in Education. I am so excited to begin this journey and continue learning from and being inspired by all of the wonderful educators out there!

I am a twenty something teacher of firsties on the Gulf Coast in Mississippi. I am a lover of Jesus, the wife of a fireman, and the mommy of two munchkins. To say I am blessed is an understatement.

My family is my core. My safe haven. My passion and purpose in life. My kiddos mean more to me than I could have ever imagined and I love being their mom. It is funny how kids bring out the best in you and give you an unfailing purpose in life.

In addition to my family, teaching is the other love of my life. My calling. I have always known that I wanted to be a teacher and I love all things teaching. I am still a newbie at my career with only two years under my belt, but I enjoy creating and delivering hands on, engaging, and meaningful lessons to my students and I look forward to sharing those things with you. You can find me on Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, and bloglovin'.

I love to blog stalk! Wait. Make that blog stalk, periscope stalk, Instagram stalk, Pinterest stalk, and Facebook stalk. Ha ha! In my opinion, learning from other teachers is the best kind of professional development! I was a little nervous to dive head first into this "edventure", but Angie Olson from Lucky Little Learners inspired me to put my nerves and fears aside when she said in one of her coffee talks on periscope that people want to hear what you have to say and that you shouldn't be afraid of that. So, thanks Angie! Your love for education, kids, and other teachers truly shines through. You have such a genuine and caring heart for others.

Stay tuned ... next post is going to be all about my classroom!
